Scientists who made amazing discoveries!

Uncovering the truth about our beloved experts!

You are about to embark on a new experience with collaboration. Your team will do research and record your discoveries on a wiki. What’s a wiki you ask? A wiki is a website that allows users to add and edit information about anything, including ingenious innovators and superb scientists! Your team will research a scientist and record the information about him/her on various pages on Mrs. Weisbrod’s wiki for Scientists. After receiving some training from Mrs. Williams, you will be good to go! Listed below are the requirements for this project.

Required Pages in your Wiki Folder (You may add others.)
•    Childhood and Teen Years
•    Personality – Character, Motivation & Ambition
•    Education
•    Major Accomplishments – Includes why the scientist is important to our world.
•    Conclusion – Includes current status of your scientist.
•    Presentation Page – This is the page you will show during your presentation to the class. See instructions    below.
•    Resources – List your resources in MLA format.

Required Pictures:  You should have a minimum of 5 pictures that relate to your scientist.

Required Resources:  Minimum of 4 sources.
•    1 printed source (i.e., book or ebook)
•    1 from database (i.e., EBSCO)
•    2 additional sources (i.e., websites, other books)

Presentation:  In addition to researching and creating your wiki, you will give a presentation to your class about your scientist. The presentation should summarize the information on your wiki. You will display the Presentation Page as you present the info. to the class. The Presentation Page should have some nice visual aids as well as BULLET POINTS about which you are talking. (Do NOT put paragraphs of info. on this page!!!)

*Please note that this is an IN-CLASS Assignment. You may only work on your wiki pages during class time. (I can see when you log in, so don’t try to be sneaky and work on this project at home.) USE YOUR CLASS TIME WISELY! You may research at home and add it to your wiki while you are in class.
